Blavor Solar Powerbank

The Blavor Solar PowerBank is a useful tool to have when camping, hiking or just want an extra charge. I live in a van so I always need as much power as I can get!

Here is the link to the product so we can be sure we are talking about the same product.

I bought this because I wanted an extra source of power for my phone.  It was reasonably priced and came with 4.5 stars out of nearly 40K ratings.

I was disappointed when I got it and here is why.  I would, however, buy it again.

What I was looking for is something that could solar charge quickly.   I had an old one that finally quit and that one would charge in the sun quite fast.  It was slightly bigger than the Blavor so the solar screen was bigger,.

The instructions said that because the screen was so small it would take a very long time of direct sunlight to charge.  It said that the best way to use the product is to charge it via it's charging cable and plan on using this as an emergency backup.

I wanted to test it so I sat it on the dash in my van on a sunny day.  By the end of the day it was 50% charged.  I was able to charge my Ipods to a full charge from zero.  There was still enough power to charge my Iphone.

It has a USB, C-port and can also be used as a flashlight.

On a day to day basis if I put it in the sun, forgetting sometimes to chase the sun, I find it will keep about a 25% charge.

I went back to do some research and this Anker PowerCore Solar was more than double what I paid for the Blavor Solar PowerBank and it would charge with solar but takes a long time.  It also has the option of charging via charging cable.

If your phone is Qi enabled it has a wireless charger on the back.  I have used it and it is easily paired and the signal is strong.

The reason I would buy it again is because now that I have adjusted my expectations, I can see how useful it really is.  It takes about 3 hours to fully charge and without any solar boost it will keep me charged which is what I was really looking for in the first place!

I lost power in my van for 2 weeks and I relied on it heavily.  Fortunately, there was a lot of sun for those 2 weeks.
