Are Affiliate Marketing and Van Life a Good Match?

This is a question I have asked myself for a long time. It seemed like it would be fun! And I needed something to do and I needed some extra cash so I decided to check it out. Let me tell you what I found. It is a great match for VanLife!

If you don't know what affiliate marketing is, simply put, it is when you are the cause of someone buying something from a retailer and the retailer pays you a commission.

Affiliate marketing is something you can do part-time as a hobby. If you do that, don't expect to make a lot of money.

Think of it as just like any other business you might start. It is a business and you have to treat it like one. The biggest difference between starting an Etsy store is that you are the "middle man". You don't ever touch a product.

If you google "affiliate marketing" you are going to be blinded by the information. I sorted through a lot of it until I came across Commission Academy

The reason I picked Commission Academy is that they give you two classes for free. I was testing the waters and wanted to know if this might be a good fit for me. I learned so much in the first two classes I was sold.

Now comes the hard part. Building a business. If you haven't had any experience in this before you will need some help. Here is another opportunity. Let's say you need some help and I prepare a class on the basics of what to do next. And then I sell you my class information for $39 or something like that. It is not hard to find companies that will let you market for them. I think the best one to start with is Amazon. You can have your own store on Amazon selling products on Amazon. Take a look at My Amazon Store ( this is an affiliate link). You will notice that I have my picture and I have written some words. You can make this much fancier.

Now you are on my page and you see under "All Things Dogs" I have a vacuum for dogs. You look at it and like it so you click on it and you will automatically be directed to your own Amazon account. You buy the vacuum and Amazon pays me a commission.

But what if you look at the vacuum cleaner and you like it but didn't want to spend that much so you type in "dog vacuum cleaners" in the search bar from my site and you look at others until you find something you like and you put it in your cart? Then you remember that you wanted to get some solar lights for your walkway so you navigate to that page and put the ones you like in your cart and check out.
