Oh No! Now What Have I Done Wrong?
It is 10pm and I hear the knock on the door. This was the first time anyone had

ever knocked on my van door.
First, I said "who is it"? No answer. Then I put clothes on. I approached the door with another "who is it"?
"Security, ma'am". Shit.
Then my mind went into overdrive. What do I have that is illegal? Where did I go wrong in life? Am I going to jail? I had an opened bottle of wine in the fridge. That would be my undoing.
He probably has a search warrant. I'm doomed.
I cupped my face with my hands on the window to see out, guppy style. I expect he was amused.
Yup, there was someone with the security guard clothes on.
Cautiously, I opened the door and peeked out and was not immediately killed. This was a good sign.
The Security Guard greeted me and asked me if I would move to a different part of the parking lot.
He pointed to a place where I could see other RVer's.
I obliged. I parked right under the sign that said "No Overnight Parking".

Living alone in a van can be a little scary at times. I think that most often, we assume the worst. I know I do.
For the most part, the only time you will ever get a knock is when you are in a parking lot somewhere that has security. I've had to move a couple of times but I haven't been arrested or towed so I feel as if I am ok!
Safety first!!
